Allowing FBEngine to access the Internet

Postby ray.ganong » Sun Oct 03, 2010 10:18 am

On Win Vista and Win 7, you may be prompted from your firewall software whether to let a program called, FBEngine.EXE, access the Internet. There are two components to Fotobounce; the user interface program based on Adobe AIR, and the native Fotobounce program (FBEngine) that scans photos for faces and makes suggestions based on face recognition.

The native program also connects to the Internet to allow for sharing of you photos via Fotomobile and the Private Network sharing feature. You need to enable Internet access to allow this to happen.

See attached screen shot for an example of the prompt you may get.

If you did not set this up when the program was first installed you can access the Firewall settings in Win 7 via the Control Panel, under System and Security.

Just make sure that FBENGINE.EXE has public access.

See attached screen shot.
